Farmers, Rural Communities, and Disasters
All of us depend on farmers for food, fiber, and fuel. As a consequence, disasters in rural communities have
consequences far beyond the immediate impact. This webinar will introduce attendees to the
unique characteristics of rural communities, issues of food security, and the unique vulnerabilities and resources of disaster
affected farmers and rural communities.

Health and Safety in Disasters
Disaster sites are inherently chaotic. All persons, especially contractors or volunteers working on disaster
damaged structures, will be vulnerable to potential injury and illness. Taking some basic protective actions will
minimize that vulnerability. This webinar will give an introduction to some of the hazards
that attendees might not have thought about, basic health and safety protective measures, and suggestions of where to find
more particular information to address specific health and safety issues.

What's the Story and How to Tell It
This webinar will discuss what it is you want to
communicate about your disaster and the work of the Long Term Recovery Group and how to communicate it effectively
in today's world.

What comes after Recovery?
When you can begin to see the last
of the LTRGs work being completed, what do you need to do and what might the future look like? What tasks need to
be done to finish up? Do you completely close down the LTRG? Do you "hibernate" the group? Do you attempt
to collect data to prepare for the future so that the community will know what assests it has and where it might need assistance?
Do you transition to a COAD?
