Domestic Training Program

The CWS ERP domestic training program assists community and regional long-term recovery networks, faith leaders at community/regional/national levels, local and state Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs), various national disaster networks, and other agencies.

Our Emergency Response Specialists (ERSs) help long-term recovery leadership in disaster-affected communities assess training/mentoring needs and build their capacity to operate long-term recovery organizations and provide spiritual-emotional by conducting formal and informal training and/or connecting them to other training resources outside CWS. They also help state/ territorial/ tribal/regional VOADs, community and judicatory disaster planners, denominational disaster networks, and governmental and voluntary sector disaster response agencies in planning and implementing mitigation and preparedness training programs which encourage development of disaster plans and equip their disaster response networks with necessary skills and knowledge.
